Hidden Haven Farm Equine Sanctuary & Education Center, Inc is a volunteer based organization. Our mission is to provide quality, life-long care for equines who are unwanted/neglected and/or have special needs and to promote the horse-human bond through the development and implementation of innovative educational and outreach programs utilizing our resident equines.
Hidden Haven seeks to provide a place where horses that might not get a second chance at a quality of life may live out their days in comfort and care. Many of our residents come from other rescues and had limited adoption potential due to their previous experiences and/or chronic health conditions. We provide evaluation, rehabilitation and customized whole horse care for our residents! At Hidden Haven, conditions that would prevent a horse from finding a forever home or being "useful" in terms of soundness for use as a riding horse actually present wonderful educational opportunities for participants in our programs and to visitors of the farm! We value the unique attributes of each of our residents. We seek to lead by example and to show people that every horse deserves our respect and care, irregardless of their ability to be ridden or inability to meet the customary "standards" of what horse ownership should entail. Horses are family, not commodities.We further seek to provide a safe place that encourages the horse-human bond by providing a supervised, positive environment for our visitors and program participants. At our farm, we encourage people to get UP, get OUT and get ACTIVE! Today's youth are too self involved and inactive. We seek to get them outside and interacting with people and animals! At Hidden Haven, RESPECT for oneself and for others (human AND animal) is the guiding principle of all we do. We give kids a safe place to learn and to grow and to become INDEPENDENT, EMPATHETIC, INTERACTIVE, RESPONSIBLE, CONTRIBUTING members of society! Our horses are mentors, teachers and confidants and eager to share immeasurable life lessons to visitors and participants.There are dozens of rescues that provide a safe place for horses in need as well as rehabilitation and adoption of those horses. There are hundreds of stables that provide opportunities for riding lessons and basic stable management. We are UNIQUE in that our population of horses is unique AND they remain with us throughout their lives. We also offer programs that SUPPORT our local equine rescues by educating potential adopters and future horse owners. We SUPPORT our local equine community of riding stables by introducing people to horses and giving them a solid foundation which they take with them to other facilities as they go along in their equestrian journeys. We SUPPORT our community by being involved and giving our youth a safe and positive place to be.Please consider SUPPORTING US! Get involved!
