Lesson Frequency Requirement:
In order to be certain our students receive maximum benefit from our program, our board has come up with recommendations for lesson frequency. With the exception of lead line riders, all students are required to take one lesson per week in order to prepay for lessons and recieve the discounted package rate. To remain and "active" student, at least 2 lessons per month must be taken and those lessons are charged at the pay as you go rate.
Lesson Scheduling:
All lesson scheduling will now be done through the Rendaivu online system. Lessons must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Lesson requests for same day lessons must be made directly with Tara. Lesson schedules will be posted each month and students will make requests for their preferred times EACH MONTH. Scheduling will be done on a first come, first served basis. Once your request has been approved, you will see your name in the slot for that lesson when viewing the master schedule. Also, shows, events and other activities (such as open barns, vet visits, farrier visits, special events, etc) will also be posted.
Lesson Cancellation Changes:
Lessons will now only be cancelled in the case of severe weather or extenuating circumstances. If weather prohibits riding, an in barn horsemanship lesson will be offered to further supplement and improve our students’ overall education. We have put together an extensive collection of in barn lessons and activities to institute. Please understand that these un-mounted lessons are crucial to the overall equestrian education we are striving to impart to our students. Lessons in healthcare, stable management, anatomy, tack care, training a more will be incorporated into our overall lesson program.
IF THE BARN CANCELS A LESSON:
If extreme weather or other circumstances require cancellation of ALL lesson activities, a posting on Rendaivu will be made no later than 12 noon the day of the lessons. Please be sure to check Rendaivu in the early afternoon if you are unsure. If an emergency arises at the barn and lessons need to be cancelled after that time, phone calls and emails will be sent to students affected by the cancellation and make up lessons will be permitted. A new and updated Lesson Cancellation Policy will be available to all students in the student handbook.
IF A STUDENT MUST CANCEL A LESSON:
At this time, we request you kindly give 24 hours notice. However, we understand that emergency and illness arises so as long as you cancel by NOON on the day of your scheduled lesson, you will not incur any cancellation fees and can schedule a make up lesson. If you do not cancel by noon or do not show up for your lesson, you forfeit the fees for that lesson and will not receive a make up lesson. If you are paying as you go, then you will not be allowed to schedule further lessons until the owed amount is paid in full.
