The residents of Hidden Haven farm are what makes our programs so unique. Most farms are operated for profit and cater to the general public, utilizing horses purchased for the specific type of lessons the farm offers. Here at our farm, we utilize the unique character of horses that have needed another chance in life. In taking the time to save and enrich their lives, we give them a chance to do the same for the people who choose to become a part of our farm. Our horses have come from many walks of life and each have unique stories to tell and special talents to share. They are the heart and soul of our program and what makes Hidden Haven Farm such a special place to be a part of. We hope you will visit our horse's bio pages and learn about their characters. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOB!
This April, our eldest resident Bob will be celebrating his 30th Birthday! Bob's jockey club registered racing name was Lend A Hand and his show name during his competitive years with Hidden Haven was The Price Is Right. This is quite a milestone for many reasons. First, Bob is a thoroughbred ex-racehorse and this breed is just not typically known for longevity. Second, several years ago Bob was diagnosed with congestive heart failure due to mitral valve regurgitation. At the time, he was given only a year or so to live a quality of life. However, we continue to be hopeful and provide Bob with the best care possible. Bob has shocked all of the veterinary specialists and at times, the staff with his tenacity as he continues to thrive. We know that Bob may not have very much longer with us and we are dedicated and determined to make his remaining time as comfortable and pampered as possible. Bob is looking for a sponsor or two that would like to come spend time with him, groom him, give him special treats and overall pamper him!
